2014 Starting and stalling, with cringeworthy sounds

    I've been clearing codes one at a time, and finally got it to the point where it will start, and not throw codes. I've pulled and cleaned the intake, throttle body, replaced the fuel pump, new fuel, cleaned the tank, pulled and cleaned all the sensors. Now, it starts, kind of. It starts to sputter and stall. Has anyone seen this condition? It isn't throwing any codes anymore. I even checked in Techstream, and all looks normal. Hoping to find a place to start looking :). Thanks!

    Did you leave the EGR valve connector unplugged? Maybe the valve is partially open?

    The history is sketchy on the car. It was pretty taken apart, and had a "new" engine installed before I bought it, but the install was never finished.

    105k on the car, 85k on the engine
    Fresh oil and coolant (water pump is working)
    Changed spark plugs, they were all nice and tan, no evidence of headgasket failure
    Coils are original, but not throwing misfire codes.
    Haven't messed with the EGR yet. Would a plugged/leaky EGR make it so it flat out won't stay running?

    Any good tips on checking for fuel pressure? I didn't see a service port.

    That's actually what I've been thinking. The gas sat in the car for 2 years, and had crystals in the gas tank. It rained all day, so I couldn't pull the fuel rail. But I think there might be some serious junk in there too. Weather is supposed to be better tomorrow.

    Update: Pulled the injectors today, hooked them up to a 9v battery... Absolutely nothing flowed through them. Ordered a kit to force fuel injector cleaner through them. I'll let everyone know the results after I'm done cleaning them out.

    It would probably be best to back flush them. From the nozzle to the where the fuel line attaches.
    You don't want to push the "mess" toward the nozzle.

    I would suggest replacement or sending them out to a place that has an ultrasonic cleaner. Even if you can get them to unstick, you will likely have problems with poor flow and uneven spray patterns. Most cleaners can't do enough on really bad injectors.

    Also, I don't think a 9V battery is enough to open a 12V injector coil. You don't want 12V (with full current) for too long (a couple second at most) but you need enough to make it work.

    Update: I've cleaned them out, and they spray beautifully now. Put everything back together, and now I'm getting no start still. No codes besides "Engine did not start". No misfires, nothing. Fuel pump seems to be working great. I can feel the fuel rail get cold, so fuel is flowing.

    Nine volts for checking out injectors is exactly what was suggested to me by Rich Jensen, who ran the cleaning service we were sending injectors out to in the days of the PriusChat injector exchange.

    Ok, I've done lots of diag work this week.
    Compression is 180psi across all 4
    I have fuel, and spark

    I bought a 257v LED driver to grid charge the pack.

    My question now is, will this thing shut down a running engine if it detects a problem with the HV battery?

    Also, who sells a HV fan controller, so I can run the fan while its charging?

    Ok, so i bought a known good ECU for it. Now, I can get it to rev up for the first time ever! Looks like that ECU was fried.

    Now, it revs up, and then shuts down with a P3190 - poor engine power. Anyone know what the chart in Techstream should look like? No idea what under the snowflake is actually a bad reading.
