anyone use a aftermarket rearview mirror? like the ones you attach over the stock ones, and gives you a wider view or other effects
Not a complete aftermarket mirror, but I always put those small convex spot lenses in the corner on each side. It works better than the blind spot monitoring imo
I had one in my old car (not a Prius), because I wanted to add an aftermarket back up camera. The mirror had a built-in screen which only came on when the camera was powered up (i.e., only in reverse). When not in reverse, the mirror looked like any other mirror. It was great, because it also auto tinted, which my stock mirror didn't do.
Anyone snapon one from amazon or knick knack store will do. I have one, took it off immediately because it get in the way of the garage opener and does not have auto dimming. But im sure you can find one and install one that does, but not worth the hassle me
I use to turn the inside mirror away as much as possible as it shadows my forward right view. As i have two functional outer mirrors i do not need the internal one. ( the mirror is at level with my eyes, thus blocks a large area om my view )
