I just picked up the new Comma AI 3. Installed the factory software, but getting "No Data from sensor". And "car unrecognized". Can someone help this Open Pilot virgin? I don't know the lingo, so be patient.
So I got some reading in. I got ssh and GitHub account setup for communication. Sounds like the default software does not support the Prius Prime? What fork test software on GitHub do you find the most compatible and with best features?
I got it working. LTA with TSS2.0 sucks. And Openpilot now fixed that mess. And most importantly, no more jerking steering wheel anymore. All handfree now like Caddy and MB. The Lane Tracing is as good as Tesla autopilot, without Tesla's phantom breaking. It also has lane changing like Tesla too. You have to be responsible for checking blindspot though. It doesn't integrate with BSM to check. So it works by turning the signal lever, you check blindspot, then gentle tuck of steering wheel to start the lane change. The crappy fighting with steering wheel is gone on the TSS system. I can pull the steering wheel at any time, and Openpilot doesn't fight you. Once you take hands off wheel, Openpilot just take over again instantly.
Can you take some pictures of how you mounted it and how you ran the wires? I want to buy the AI3 but I don't want ugly wires hanging everywhere.
Comma has a YouTube video for install already. The harness kit uses the Prius camera for power. The Ethernet cable is easy to tuck behind the glass and console. The AI3 has a very good mount. The only suggestion I have is, do not even stick the harness on the glass. The Prius camera cover is so small the harness don't have a place to mount and close the cover. Very easy installation otherwise. Just come back and ask me if you get stuck. See below for link of my Google search for Prius install. Comma 3 install video is in that search too. youtube comma 3 install prius prime - Google Search
