Hello, the screen on my panel displays a random section of the map of my city, and the GPS icon in the top left corner is crossed out, it does not recognize my current location. How do I turn on my GPS? Thank you for any tips.
That sounds like something is not working. GPS is always on. AFAIK, there is no switch or setting to turn it on. Maybe the GPS antenna or GPS module itself is broken?
Did you hit the home button? That should recenter the map to your present location. You might have used the pinch to zoom function to move the map relative to your location at that time. I don't think I've ever left it like that so I don't know for sure, but it might retain that position after you shut off the car and restart it.
Also, whatever kind of map it has, it may not be able to read the map data. I"m afraid that you need to see a dealer.
Thank you, I suspect a problem with the GPS as well. Looks like finding a repair manual isn't the easiest task, either..
Thank you, I bought the car in July and never even paid any attention to the GPS display, but it was like this from day one. I usually use my phone for directions and only recently noticed the GPS icon crossed out in red.
Thank you, I think the fact that the GPS icon is crossed with a red bar out means there is a systemic problem- antenna, module, or wiring.
BTW, I bought the car the middle of July, and I have yet to refill the tank- still reading over 3/4 full. My only concern is the deterioration of the fuel, and at some point I think I have to use and replace the gas to keep it fresh.
once a year or so should be enough, don't fill it all the way next time, unless you feel the need to have a full tank for emergencies. i only keep 2-3 gallons on board, unless i'm going to travel.
You might be right. I tested my idea yesterday. Before turning off the car, I scrolled the map several miles sideways and left it there when I shut off the car. When I restarted the car, the map was centered, so it doesn't remember the offset. As mentioned, the gas should be good for a year. BTW, a tip on forum ease-of-use: you can save time and work by hitting the quote button on several replies and putting the all in one reply as I have done here.
