I just bought new new snow tires and have a TPMS relearn tool. I was able to reset the tire pressure and initialize the tires but I can’t figure out how to turn on the relearn mode to use the tool. The vxdas tool will work if I can turn on TPMS learn mode. Anyone know how to do this? thanks Bruce
There is NO TPMS Relearn Mode in the Prius. There is a Pressure Reset Function in the Vehicle Settings Menu of the MID (multi information display) but that just resets the tires pressures to the current pressures when reset. If you're asking about how to use the $25 vxdas reader, you should probably go to the vxdas site and ask there help desk howto, but I doubt it will work on the Prime. ymmv You can always use Priuschat search to see what others have already discussed about TPMS stuff.
Year and model will help us help you. Some of the latest Toyotas do not need a tool to program the TPMS sensors. REVVL V+ 5G ?

As already commented, there is no "relearn mode" on your 2021 Prius Prime. The only way to program (register or re-learn) a new TPMS sensor ID to ECU is via OBDII connection. There are several tools available to do this but I suspect your vxdas tool is not one of them. Read this thread and I have explained the methods available to your car. An Amazon listing that I see for a "VXDAS TPMS Relearn Tool" is very seriously misleading about vehicle model coverage. E.g. it claims that my Forester is covered, which is false because my vehicle lacks the relearn mode. For this Forester, I must use OBDII-port tools to reprogram the vehicle, the same as for my Prius. While the listing mentions Toyota generically in a couple places, it doesn't mention any Toyota model names. The manufacturer website is only slightly less bad. If I somehow received this, I'd return it as not suitable for much of its advertised and intended use. It probably does work on numerous brands and models, but the advertising is misleadingly broad.
