Can someone post photos for the PCV location. I'm trying to change it, and install an oil catch can. Thanks!
Good thread on the subject: Oil Catch Can, Eliminate that knock! | PriusChat It's third gen, but engine is more-or-less the same. Intake manifold a little different.
This thread and @Raytheeagle photos are maybe helpful. Personally, I don't think it is necessary, and I don't even know what it does.
Here's the thread on the install of the catch can on our 2019 Prime: Oil Catch Can | PriusChat Im about to do the 50k mile oil change, and I'll find out how much I've caught since 40k miles. But my EV ratio has gone up, so the engine runs less. Data forthcoming .
So how many miles are on the engine oil at this 10k mile oil change? Is the 'forthcoming data' an official Oil Analysis? They don't cost much! Probably less than what you are spending on the oil and filter. The report would be interesting, no? I used to get a kit at a heavy equipment shop for ~$22. It's a small jar and a prepaid envelope.
The data forthcoming refers to the amount caught by the catch can. Since this thread is about catch can installs, I'm trying to stay on topic with pertinent info . If you wanna talk oil analysis, I'll gladly save some and I'll get you my contact info so you can pay for the analysis. Given I will only have about 2500 miles on the oil based on my EV to HV ratio and I use Pennzoil Pure Platinum as well as use BG Products MOA, I don't see the need to analyze to know the oil is fine and could run longer .
