I need a 2 inch reciever for my 22 prius prime. I need the 2 inch to accomodate my bike rack, and no I do not want to use a adapter to a 1 1/4 inch. That would work with 2 bikes but not good for 3 bikes plus I would loose the lock for the hitch. Ecohitch makes one that they list for the prius prime but for 2017 to 2020. They have not tried it on the 21 or 22. Any reason to think that the 21 and 22 are different structurally from the 2020?
I was thinking that if you lived close enough, you could get a free hitch by being the first to bring your car model in to find out. If a current product doesn't fit, they'll make a new one that does. And put it up on the website product offering too. But that works only for people living close enough to zip code 98032 to bring the car in and leave it for a while.
Pretty sure it will fit with no issues. I'd recommend installing something like the AirLift 1000 bags to handle rear-end sag when adding a hitch and multiple bikes to an already rear heavy Prime. Air Lift 1000 Air Bag Kits for SUVs & Vans | Air Lift Company Fairly simple to DIY and make a load (hah, pun) of difference when loading down vehicles.
I contacted torklift central and they advised they do not have a fitment available for a 2022 prime. I specifically asked about the 2” ecohitch.
