Not that I'm aware of, but then neither does the Prolong.

Odd, even the freebie (no longer free) from HF does 1000V DC. Have you tried the big box stores/web (lowes, HD, etc), many start at $10.

Which metroplex in CA are you nearest, as the country and the state are both fairly large.

Yes I noticed one of the poster used 2 HF multimeters that they were giving out for free back in the days. I guess i can use my spare FLUKE meter and pickup meter from HF I'm Los Angeles county.

The cheapest meter at Harbor Freight is no longer an option now because they are using different parts in it therefore the max voltage it can read is 250V DC !! Do not buy the ones in the stores anymore as they don't carry the previous model Item #98025 anymore that can read up to 1000V DC.

I ordered the digital meter in the OP off eBay, it says it located in USA but just noticed after I placed order that the Ebay seller is probably lying and is shipping from China :mad: Hate these people that say they are US base when they are not. In the mean time if I probably use my Fluke meters.

Thank you for finding this fuse holder & fuses at Digikey!
I just received my order & the fuse holder is perfect.
Screw together ends hold 5mm x 20mm fuses. 16ga wire leads.
Here is the Digikey p/n in text form (so a search engine can find them).

@alftoy was wondering about a fan speed controller for Gen 2 packs... This is what @fach is using:

Can the INSIGHT grid charger be used on the Prius hybrid battery?? It seems like if you left it charging it would eventually get the Job done?

You say you built a grid charger without noticing post #3 pertaining to using this build on an Insight vs Gen 2 Prius?

Grid charger needs to be higher voltage than the pack when fully charged. So an insight charger would work on a Prius C, which only has 20 modules instead of 28, but it wouldn't work on a standard Prius pack.

it's the amount of push that counts... a tiny push with less than 1/2 an amp will dissipate as heat rather than an explosion in each module once it's fully charged as long as you have cooling to take that heat away.

I recently watched a guy on you tube that charged his hybrid battery with a 12v car battery. And it seemed to work fine as long as you keep your eye on it. So it seems to line up with what your saying. 12volts charging time get a SOC OF at least 8volts. heres the link-
