Anyone have any experience or thoughts on this? https://projectlithium.com/products/prius-gen1-lithium-upgrade-pack-19-blocks
I didn't think the cost was that high for the gen 1 and 2 I thought it was about 18 anyway that's a life po set up supposed to be pretty good SM-A715F ?
Was going to buy this exact same setup but they're out of stock and no end in sight to the shortage SM-A715F ?
I didn’t know the Gen 1 had a Lithium solution given the state’s taxation methods a Gen 1 Prius is the best model to own as you can drive registration free as opposed to paying hybrid penalties
there are several very long threads here with many satisfied customers. they may be mostly gen 2 and 3 though
The Dr. Prius lithium HV battery is the hybrid battery of the future. There is nothing better. http://www.RedBullet.net https://ProjectLithium.com/?ref=mG0GE http://www.Pulstar.com http://www.PlugOutPower.com Use code 7373 http://www.hybridpit.com Use code azusa http://CatStrap.net Use code azusa
NiMH last a long time with high current they way it is handled by the Toyota system. Lithium at high current not as much. Now if they used Lithium Titanate it would outlast the car AND give high current. Given there is no EV mode for the gen1, I'd stick with the oem setup.
You don't find any YouTube videos of changing an original Prius HV battery I know there's a few I'll have to go find the links again but right it's very similar to the gen 2 . But different enough that if you didn't do this kind of work you might need the pointers trim removal and all that sort of thing but it's pretty straightforward I'll see if I can dig up the links to the YouTube videos there's been several out there and I would say I would probably stick with the nickel metal hydride too I don't know what's available for the Gen 1 not really my cup of tea cute car but different enough I wish they would have made a coupe in the Gen 2.
