everyone. I was called today, to go check out a honda Civic, 2005 today, with an issue. What was the issue/symptoms? 1. The auxiliary battery indicator light, is always lit, each time the engine starts. 2. The energy monitor, does not even display the energy flow, but the auxiliary battery indicator is ON. 3. The engine cranks, and starts, for some minutes, afterwards, the 12V depletes. Before this happens, there'd be sone kind of shuddering for some seconds, and car dies. 4. The accelerator pedel does not respond when depressed (no corresponding response in RPM). My thoughts? I think, the traction battery is depleted, and needs to be recharged, or something? Scanned the ECU for codes, but got a "TP high circuit code"(can't remember the code right now though. Replaced the throttle body, and checked the harness on the throttle body, the power feed to it was open circuited. That, was repaired, and still had same code. Any suggestions over here, would be helpful to me pls. Dxta
Suggest checking the Honda blog/ troubleshooting forum rather than those who simply know most about the Prius. .
Going to have to search for a Civic forum. There are probably many out there. Your problem is likely an easy fix. The auxiliary battery is the 12 volt, and it might have a shorter than average life. 07 HCHII dead aux battery-symptoms | 8th Generation Honda Civic Forum
