    Well I solved my problem thanks to a YouTube video I stumbled across.

    Seems my particular head unit (57011) does not support A2DP blue-tooth streaming.

    Purchased an A2DP blue-tooth receiver that plugs into the aux input and magic, blue-tooth music streaming.
