Sad to say, she posted poorly on Twitter including suggesting to punch Elon and calling AutoPilot cars killer robots. Was she drinking? Using Google Scholar, I found two papers. One is a proposal for testing AutoPilot and other ADAS systems. The more credible one tested three 2018 Teslas with different software versions … not perfect but an attempt to get metrics. Her poor Twitters have pretty well made her an enemy to Tesla owners. Yet her peer reviewable papers shows some insights. But she is NOT ready to be an NHTSA safety advisor. Bob Wilson
or, she may fit right in i had never heard of her until now, she certainly has credentials. elon-musk-missy-cummings-transportation-twitter.html
i think we need more regulation and standards for self driving, this shouldn't be an every man for himself effort.
First observation, the actual accident rates per mile compared to each systems and ordinary cars. If it turns out these systems are safer than existing cars, turning them off will injure and kill more. Then use the data to identify weak areas. Regulations are like surgery and should only FOLLOW observation and diagnosis. Bob Wilson
a lot of issues are still driver related. until the systems are reasonably foolproof, i would recommend driver alert systems to be implemented
