I just got 45 MPG on a long trip from Alberta to Colorado and back. Montana and Wyoming have FAST speed limits and I must say my 2010 Prius struggled a lot less than my 2005 does at high speeds and on elevation gains. I was going 70-85 MPH the whole way with some winds. Moving at 55-60 MPH i usually get around 50 MPG.
