I am ready to replace the 4 tires and the 4 TPMS sensors on my 2006 Prius. Are there any good deals or rebates right now? The cost of TPMS sensors with installation appears also significant. 2 TPMS sensors of the original sensors are not working for a couple of years now. I am surprised the other 2 still provide signal after 15 years (I see them in Techstream). Anyway, since I am changing tires I will replace all 4 TPMS sensors. I called Costco and they said $45 per TPMS plus $15 for installation. Then I said but we are doing tires as well and she replied verbally on the phone then there is no $15 fee. They have $110 rebate for 4 tires only on expensive Michelin. BF Goodrich rebate is similar at $110 for 4 tires but no inventory online or at the local store at this time.
i got all four of mine installed at sams club for i wanna say 37 a tire plus a 5 dollar fee. i didn’t get new tires with them tho and i’m not sure if you have the membership at costco already iPhone ?
It’s hard to beat Sam’s (or Costco) for tires. As Stated above, its $5 to install tpms sensors. Usually they run a special for $80-100 off of 4 tires. The brands on special seem to change every month. You can buy tpms sensors here: https://www.tpms.com/Toyota-Prius-OE-Pacific-TPMS-Sensor-p/p0103-toyota-prius.htm $59 for the OE brand Of sensor. They’re cheaper because it’s not branded Toyota, it’s made by the company that makes it for Toyota. I have found that Sam’s is NOT able to program every brand of sensor. I had bought Denso on Amazon thinking it would be the OEM…. It was not, and neither Sam’s or Another tire shop could program them, only the dealer could. Upon asking the guys at Sam’s, they said they’ve always been able to program OEM sensors. Hope that helps.
Pay the extra for Michelin. Also, tire shop by me knows which sensors are bad. Are all 4 bad? Not a mechanic but the way they explained to me it is like if it gets low on battery it needs to be replaced. Maybe you only have 1 bad sensor or 2.
I finally bought today the Michelin X Tour A/S T + H for $118.99 plus 23.48 installation, fees. Total with taxes was $482.72 for 4 tires after a $110 instant rebate. This tire is the Costco version of the identical Michelin Defender which was ranked second from the top on Consumer reports for all season tires. The top tire was General Altimax RT43 but I trust Michelin more. The TPMS sensors were $44.99 each with no other fees since I installed tires at the same time. Total for 4 TPMS sensors another $190.76. I asked about warranty and both the Costco employees replied no warranty on electronic TPMS sensors. This worries me a little bit. The TPMS model is DILL AIR CONTROL 7002A and on the factory website shows 1 year warranty. I hope they will lasts way more than a year. Two of the 15 year old original TPMS sensors they were still working but I changed them anyway. I didn’t even request to keep them since I am sure they would go out soon.
Very very nice deal! Yes, I agree with Milkyway-pay extra for the Michelins. They cost more up front but can be worth it if you put a lot of miles on your vehicle. They’ll last a very long time.
Warning to those considering buying so called "new oem sensors" off Ebay. I bought several and from different sellers and all failed within 6 months.... now I just drive around with my check tire light illuminated.
