Hi I've everyone, I've come across a Prius being parted out and it has those nice tri-lens touring-trim factory headlights. And I have just the regular stock ones. Is it possible to swap them out like plug'n'play or would I also have to mess around with wiring harnesses, control boxes etc.? Side note, I do have that sensor on the rear axle (which is used for auto-levelling?) My other question: I've noticed my third brake light sometimes flickers very rapidly and then will shine properly the next second. Could it be a poor ground? Or maybe common on prii this age? (2010, 230k kms) Thanks so much, Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Some people install brake light modulators to cause the lights to flash and then go steady. A great attention-getting accessory. We have two 2010 Prii, one with the halogen headlights and the other with the LED headlights. The LED lights are leaps and bounds better. Good luck in your search for the answers.
How are you detecting this, just when driving? I'm wondering: is it just the third brake light, the high-mounted one, or would all the brake lights be doing this? To check that: get a helper to watch the brake lights while you push the pedal. Or without a helper just back the car up to a wall or garage door, judge from the light they cast?
I noticed when I park in the driveway at night, in the rearview mirror I see the light bouncing off my house. So I pressed the brake pedal with a screw driver and go behind to watch it. The left and right brakes work perfectly but the high-mount sometimes stops working entirely. I think I will just replace it, probably just find a used one at the junkyard Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
