Boston area. We get snow. "All-Season" or "Mud+Snow") have been good enough for me. I buy new tires before the tread gets down to the minimum. What are some generally recommended tires? Winter traction is more important than maximizing fuel economy, I'd like something better than the OEM tires in that regard.

This guy Aftermarket Wheel Fitment Guidelines | PriusChat has recommended both of these.
    GENERALG-MAX AS-05 205 50R17 UTOG 500 AA A 93W $118
    YOKOHAMAAVID ASCEND LX 205 50R17 UTOG 800 A A 93V $147
from Tire Rack / 2 year Road Hazard + Free shipping 8 Oct 2021

I've got this in 205 65R 15 And that's the same diameter as the one below at 25.5 inches which throws the speedo off by about 1.6% (you might notice the difference) but it was more than $100 less per tire in my size last year.
    DEFENDER LTX M/S - SIZE: 215/50R17 UTOG 720 A A 95H $222
from Tire Rack / 2 year Road Hazard +free shipping $888 total 4 tires.
It's a bit pricey The tread is monster for a prius since they are for Light Truck and SUV (LTX) + Mud and Snow.

maybe that'll give ya a few ideas to start with.
