Hi - I am just wondering: Do only the 2019 prime advanced trim levels come with the heated steering wheel? I have a prime with the heated steering wheel that is supposed to be advanced, but I do not see any heads up display nor any way to enable the blind spot monitors (I thought all advanced models were supposed to have blind spot monitors). My vehicle does have the heated steering wheel and shows up as an advanced on a free VIN lookup website. I have tried scrolling through all the menus, and there are also no buttons on the dash or steering wheel for BSM. How would I enable it? Shouldn't it be in the same menu as lane departure assist and all that stuff? Does anyone know if it is possible to get a firmware update for the HUD that enables android auto? I can't even use entune since it's a canadian prime, and apparently entune sucks anyways. Thanks
Are you saying your Prime is Canadian specs? US and CAN do have diff specs for every model @Tideland Prius may be able to answer those questions specifically.
Yes, it originated in Canada and has the Celsius display for the temp, which apparently is not easy to change.
In that case, all Canadian-spec cars have heated steering wheel as standard equipment. If you have the cloth seats and 7" MFD, it's the base model. If you have the 11.6" screen and SofTex but manual dimming mirror and no BSM/RCTA/HUD etc, it's the midlevel "Upgrade" package (similar to a US "Premium" or "XLE" trim level)
Thanks for the info. So it has the 7" display, which based on what you are saying means it's the base model and I was ripped off by a dealer for $4000-5000. Do you have any idea why the VIN shows up as advanced if it is a Canadian plus model? This is very strange. The VIN is JTDKARFP5K3105925. Do you know where I can get any Canadian spec documents from Toyota or anything if I am going to approach this dealer about this?
@pf4711 If you go to Toyota Owners Welcome to Toyota Owners You can sign up for an account (if you don't have one yet). Then can enter in VIN number and then you can see the spec sheet. Will show you everything about the birth and build of the car, etc. You also get to see all service history, either from Toyota Dealerships or user/owner entered. However, since it is a Canadian model, not sure if everything is the same, or if you have to do a Toyota Canadian owners website acct. At least give it a try, might be possible.
I've tried the us Toyota owners account, and it just lists it as Prius prime and has no info about trim levels. Can't find a Canadian version :-( Thanks
Not sure if any issues were happening when you went to Toyota Owners, but I just looked and seems like the site is not fully functioning. But the screenshot I added shows where you can find the specs. (site is not working correctly for me atm) My Vehicle drop down, then bottom left "Vehicle Specs"
Look closely at the paperwork you received from the dealer. If they are implying that it is an advanced model and it is the base model, you have grounds to either return the car and get your money back or pursue him in small claims court if he refuses. Maybe he made a mistake, but there are a lot of safety items on the advanced model that are worth having.
