    This will be an interesting week within an interesting month, for those having interest. Two hyped-up rivalries (Yankees & Red Sox; Dodgers & Giants) with tussle for the chance to arrange a meeting. Several other still-in-it teams hope to spoil that party. Tampa Bay could spoil everything :eek:

    This pro sport features unwatchably long games within an unwatchably long season. Boredom here has a fractal geometry.

    I am interested in how two these California teams sort themselves out, but my interest may be singular within our everything chat.

    Well the Dodgers have to make it past the Cardinals before they face the Giants;).

    So no guarantees on the matchup given the Cardinals won 17 in a row in September:).

    In other baseball news:

    III U-23 Baseball World Cup 2020 - The official site - WBSC

    The World Champion is Venezuela, silver medal to Mexico, and Bronze to Colombia. Cuba lost the Bronze medal round, after which 9 of its players defected (in Mexico). The big D is reported only elsewhere and said players have not been publicly named.

    The 'cardinal numbers' here are that LA beat StL 4 times this season and lost 3 including their most recent 2 games. So this is not an ignorable challenge.

    The ordinal numbers are that among 10 teams in playoffs, LA is first and StL is tenth.

    Hard to argue momentum;).

    And with Molina and some of the other players on the Cards side of the equation, anything can happen in a one game playoff:).

    As a Pirates fan I cannot cheer for the Cards but in a family of Giants fans, beat LA(y).

    Kapler has done what a lot thought he couldn't with all the expiring contracts SF had:).

    Even my father in law wrote them off this year:ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO::LOL:.

    But he's watching with excitement now(y).

    It is not all all sensible to write off SF now. If one really believes that StL can get past the Dodgers, now is the time to bet on SF.

    3-1 (Boston) presently, for those not watching. Both teams will use relief pitchers as if there is no tomorrow. Because there pretty much isn't. Expect the same when LA and StL throw at each other tomorrow.

    @16 refers to Aaron Judge, a productive 2021 Yankee.

    Run gap has increased to 5. Purchasers of late-inning commercial spots might have over payed. Just this once :)

    So much for having a better bullpen than Boston. I’ll never understand why they tinker with lineups after wins. Boooooo-ne!
