Have you hit up Hybrid Pit? I would keep that prius and have them do the repair or replace with a rebuilt from them. http://www.RedBullet.net Toyota hybrid battery upgrade pack– NexPower Energy http://www.Pulstar.com http://www.PlugOutPower.com Use code 7373 http://www.hybridpit.com use code azusa
What a shame, this would be the exact donor vehicle for my project if you wasn't so far away.. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
@JC91006 Are you passing the savings to your mechanic or are you making profit on a sale? Make sure to smog and register it before you sell it to your mechanic. http://www.RedBullet.net https://ProjectLithium.com/?ref=mG0GE http://www.Pulstar.com http://www.PlugOutPower.com Use code 7373 http://www.hybridpit.com Use code azusa
What was the reason for needing a new engine? Head gasket? Not maintained? 160K is not a lot of miles for those 1.8L 4-cylinders.
2016 and newer are good engines. The original 2010-mid 2014 1.8L Atkinson cycle engines were deeply flawed. Late 2014-2015 improved one facet with new pistons and rings.
