OBD2 recommendations? links?

    So Dr Prius will work with none of my OBD2 scanners. Not the bluetooth, the wifi, or the usb. Ive boughten so many of these cheap things and half of the time they dont work at all, but best of all. THEY ALL LOOK THE EXACT SAME. Some even have the same names but are wildly different.

    So does anyone know of a link i can use to buy one that will work with Dr prius? Im looking into torque pro but i have alot of iphones and would rather use that. Thanks in advance for the help!

    I have read over this link , but it seems a little dated or something. When you click on the links, it leads to a product with a different picture but similar name. And the reviews add to the confusion. Thats how i ended up with yet another useless piece of plastic. Oh well, ill try another one from here as this guy obviously wrote the damn novel on obd2 clones, he probably knows what hes talking about. Thanks!

    I know how you feel. Bought one that didnt work and had to return it.

    Get the BAFX bluetooth OBD2 adapter on amazon. It will work and give you all latest value. Don't even shop around for price. Buy that one!

    Dont believe me check Prius Chat on the BAFX bluetooth OBD2 adapter

    Carista seems to get consistent good reviews. Do you have Apple IOS or Android. My OBDLink LX works well for me with all apps that I have tried but is Android only and is more expensive than average.

    Awesome! thank you guys. Im on IOs but should really make the switch to android/windows and eventually get a copy of torque but for now i just need to find the bad cells in my battery.

    Just purchased the AUTEL AP200, seems to do everything the previous expensive models did. It does ask you often to repeat a selection when setting up the car model/profile, but overal works well. When you change subtasks, it does ask you to re-connect, which is cludgey, but, again it works. I could find NOWHERE that describes what the nomenclature for the TPMS current battery voltage means. All my TPMS sensors are working fine (after 15 years!) but the AP200 scan states "less" or "over" for their voltage lol. Also - nowhere that tells you what the Sensor Wheel IDs are. Being your typical westerner I though Front Left Tire would be Id1. Not So. The ID numbering starts at RR and goes counter clockwise.

    If a scan tool actually has data concerning TPMS sensor battery level, then it will indicate: 1)that the battery is adequate, or 2)that the battery is low. That's all that I have ever seen about TPMS battery level on any make of car.

    I don't know the capabilities of your scanner, but the actual ID #s are usually in a "datalist" that has stuff like reported tire pressures, temperatures, warning light activation threshold, etc.

    As far as I know ABS and TPMS info is rarely available for your standard obd reader. Maybe thru tech stream? I have a Prius with the ABS (!) brake and parking brake light on. Does this mean the blink codes are my only hope of diy?
