I finally made the switch! I took delivery of my Tesla on August 16. I really love this car! I couldn't give up my Prius Prime though so we are using it as a work car. Its the best of both worlds. LOL
Congrats!! I'm tempted to just do it, but I'm trying to be patient to see what might happen with incentives and possibly battery advances. Besides, my wife would kill me if I got another car this soon after the Prime that has been absolutely bullet proof as well as costing about 3 cents a mile to drive including over 10,000 miles of road trip miles. But the tech in the Model 3 is calling me!! I'm probably not the only one looking forward to reading what you think about it.
I have already part way through the ordering process for a white with white interior Model 3 SR and it said delivery in February, 2022. Black interior was January 2022. I can afford to wait, although it tests my limited patience. Once I know what's happening with incentives, I'll probably pull the trigger whether they pass or not. Once I get my wife used to the idea. That takes patience too sometimes. LOL! Back to the original topic: Hey, @Scrogg, when are you going to get out of the car long enough to tell us all about it?
So far I am loving it! I did not get full self driving. I have used the auto pilot and it is very useful as I make a 2 hour trip to my mons every weekend so it is nice to have it drive for me. That being said it does phantom break so I wont use auto pilot if someone is behind me too close.
I just watched a video review where the owner said the same thing about auto pilot and phantom braking. Or sometimes not braking when it should. I'll need to try to be patient and wait till next year when I'm financially more ready and also fully recovered from next week's knee replacement. Mostly I want to see what happens with the incentives and get a handle on what my cash flow will be like after I retire at the end of this year. Enjoy the new ride!
