I have a 2013 plug-in. Just in the past week my Bluetooth stopped working. When I try to connect it again, most of the time I’m only given option for general and radio buttons. I can push the app button and 90% of the time it doesn’t do anything. Every now and then I will get “system not installed “. Several times I’ve gotten the Bluetooth button displayed on the monitor, but when I push the button, it just beeps. same thing if the phone button pops up on the monitor. If I touch the phone button, nothing responds. I’ve checked fuses related to the radio and navigation system. All are good. I checked my usb cord, and it does not show it charging my phone. any ideas or suggestions on what’s going on?
Well my radio is P---ing me off. I got in yesterday and everything worked... until i turned it off. then it was like i described. After turning it off and back on at the store, it was working. Ten minutes later, after i had shut her off. The screen does not come on, nothing works except for the radio. The display will flicker on for a second, if I hold a button in. Any thoughts????
My radio adventure continues. I got tired of the issues, as it got to a point the radio would not even play. And the backup camera stopped working. Bought a new Alpine CarPlay system. Radio works, backup camera doesn’t. Bought another camera off eBay, still doesn’t work. Any ideas?
I’m no mechanic, but it sounds like you may have some sort of corrupt software in your car, an electrical short somewhere, or (hopefully) simply a weak 12v battery, which is known to cause strange issues (though I have never heard it cause these sorts of issues…). Will likely need a visit to a hybrid specialist or a dealer… they can test the battery and also confirm if there are any software updates available… Good luck and report back!
My 2013 Japanese import Gen 1 plug-in did not come with a camera but it has a 4 pin connector in the rear hatch door with red, yellow, white & black separate wires. Looks similar to a Gen3 Prius connector except it is brought down from the roof trim through the hatch. However, I cannot find where the other end comes out as it does not seem to be in the front LH kick panel connector block. The original Toyota camera is 6V for most models and needs an adapter to any 12V after-market head unit.
