And the unit under it is the charger. The battery must be removed to replace the charger.

 

Now swap a Prius v battery with this one, add engine disable and call me impressed

 

The question is, can we use prime battery and is it plug n play?

 

I very much doubt it, as it won't fit for starters. There was no precedent for Toyota to design it to be compatible with the previous generation car, and a lot has changed.

 

where are you getting these, are they replacements? any pricing?

 

My PIP battery has decreased in range, wonder if its possible to rebuild. Can't find much data.

 

no, it has not been done yet. just yanking it out will be a much bigger job than the lift back. and you are dealing with lithium, so the battery threads here may not apply altogether.
