That's exactly what I do, only I don't use a screwdriver, because there is (so far) always a pinky attached to my hand.
Rule # 2 have a few scattered around and the main inspector light always in one place and charged up. There is bound to be one around somewhere, if I could only find it .....
Hi. I wanted to follow up on this conversation. I Just got back from my camping trip and the carabiner worked great in fooling the sensor that the hatchback was closed! Thank you for all of your responses.
I had to transport stuff sticking out the back. Tried the carabiner trick, unfortunately didn't work, had the warning beep ALL THE WAY there. Maybe wrong size? It looked close. And at least it was an effective tie-down point.
Don't forget you need the second click. If you need the tie-down point, that's where the carabiner comes in handy. If all you need are the clicks, a pinky works fine. You don't have to leave the pinky there after the two clicks.
