Anybody know how I can fix the average trip? is basically showing real time information, e.g. when I'm driving and come to a stop it will show either 0.00 or --- and when I press gas it will climb up and go up and down depending on how much I press the gas pedal. I would like to show it as the average or accumulating data like it did before. I reset one of the trips but it didn't fix the issue.

Happened after I replaced my 12v battery it was losing charge and would go to 9v after a 3 days not driving.

Different years and models might be a bit different.
My C has at least 4 individual MPG calculations; maybe more.
Each trip display has it's own.
The main ODO has it's own.
The individual trip display has IT'S own, which resets automatically.
You just aren't looking at the same thing that you were before.
It's just a matter of finding the right one.

I'll have another more thorough look at any of the toggle buttons soon. It is weird and annoying the AVG trip was behaving like a tachometer continuously going up and down whenever I press/not press the gas pedal.

Silly me looks like the display toggle button fixed it. I'll have a look through the manual next time to find what the other real time AVG trip means.

That is not weird at all, once you understand that you are looking at INSTANTANEOUS fuel mileage and not an average.
