The fan buttons, both to increase and decrease fan speed are sticking and seems like the spring on the back side is getting weak. I tried using silicon lubricating spray and pressed the buttons a dozen or so times hoping the lubricant will work it's way in, but buttons are still sticking. Anyone know of any fixes for this?
Our buttons do the same thing. Once I caught on to what they were doing, I got into the habit of feeling them more carefully to ensure the buttons returned to the neutral position before I let go.
My off or auto button will stick sometimes. It's often the case with such things that there's a factory-installed lube that gets a bit gummy. Sometimes just spraying a new kind of lube over the gummy stuff may help a bit but not be as effective as hoped. If mine gets to the point of really annoying me, I will probably remove it from the car and see if I can disassemble the buttons from it on the bench, clean them of any former substances, and then spray them with perhaps Elmer's Slide-All and reassemble. But it hasn't annoyed me that much yet.
how does adjusting the temp on the steering wheel help with changing fan speed? mine has been sticking for a year or so. i also have not been annoyed enough yet to do anything. if i'm careful, and press in the right spot, it doesn't stick. i may try some contact cleaner someday ref=asc_df_B00006LVEU
I'm fairly sure the stickage involves the plastic buttons, not the contacts beneath them. Depending on what sort of contact cleaner, I might be careful about not getting it anywhere but contacts.
