Running out of both gas and electric

    Intriguing recent 16 min video of PP owner deliberately running out of gas and electric. Pics will follow of his summation. Last pic is how much gas he put in from empty.

    I wonder if it still has the 'need to add at least 3 gallons' that the older generations of Prius had if they ran out of gas.
    That's important if you're stuck on the side of the road and have to refill from a can carried from a gas station.

    [not that I plan on trying that, I usually fill up before the last 2 divisions on the gauge disappear]

    I seem to remember that on the older generations, absent a sufficiently large refill, one could disconnect the 12V battery for a few minutes so the ECUs could lose their memory on this, allowing them to retry to start.

    No, the Gen 4 has a different (rigid) fuel tank, unlike the flexible bladder in Gen 2, that does not require a minimum fuel add to trigger the new reading.
