Best way to find a used Prius with no battery?

I have one in Phoenix as of today. Otherwise it’s in great mechanical condition. 2008. Replaced 12v in past year, new brakes, new shocks and struts. Upholstery needs cleaned but maybe you could swap that too if you really wanted to. Lmk.

 

I have a 2007 with 65k miles decent condition. Obviously battery dead (from sitting and not being driven).

Only thing is, my mechanic charges basically nothing to put it in (takes him about 45 minutes), and I can get one used or refurbished/rebuilt for $400. So I consider it a cheap repair.

I'm gonna fix it soon and try to get around 6.5k for it.

Most will be higher miles and worn out --- but if you want the trick to getting one with a bad hybrid battery --- get a dealers license --- find one with 50-70k miles at the auction --- and be the high bidder (minimum 4k usually more). It will for sure come with a bad hybrid battery lol. This is my 2nd one with low miles (other one had 49k) and both have junk batteries.

 

Just look for a late Gen 2 with the original battery that is "going strong" and buy it. Chances are that it'll need a new battery soon.
