Hi there. I had a Gen 2 pri and later on traded it for a gen 3. Now after 6 years of using prius, i have said goodbye to prius for now. I ahve shifted to the JDM hybrid Vezel. Beautiful vehicle.... Just concerned about its dct.... Any good suggestions would be welcomed Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
According to the google, it is known as the HR-V in the US. DCT = double clutch transmission Japan has been getting a hybrid version since 2013 that uses their one motor system. Which is similar to what Hyundai has in the Ioniq hybrid, and was first in their Fit/Jazz hybrid. The US has only seen the AWD version of the system with two rear motors in some Acuras. The hybrid HR-V we are getting uses the two motor system that is in the Accord and Insight.
Only problem with DCT's as the IP stated is that the clutches eventually wear out with high mileage. It's a very expensive repair.
My daughter's 2011 Ford Fiesta had a double clutch and was nothing but trouble. Then again, it was a Ford.
Whoops. I had confused the two models. The CR-V is getting the two motor hybrid system. I don't know if the HR-V here is getting a hybrid version.
