Never thought I would do it. Thought I was gonna keep em till the wheels fell off. Upgraded the family car...from 2015 Prius Persona to a 2021 Prius Prime XLE! Obviously with the deals going on....well you all know it. Anyway, Carvonka offered 17224 for the 2015 with 36k on the odo...duh Technically it was worth more than that to me, but would have never seen it. Could not say no. few days later had check in hand and they picked up ol' Persona. Now I had to drive all the way to Mass just to sign papers. "They" wanted a cashiers check in hand. On the last day of June. Only way. Most dealershits were saying no to out of state. And to find a BLUEONE??? I dont think so. I think this was the last Blue XLE in the NE region. And wasnt sold on the Limited. Had to wait until today when they drove it here "delivery" They absolutely screwed up and just here, take it and title/reg/tax it yourself. I told them that from the beginning, but they refused. They also refused umpteen times when I said I will drive it home. Gotta do what I gotta do for the misses. She picked blue. Im fine with that. Roughly ~6k out of pocket for the 6 year new upgrade. now for the learning n such. Here she is in the hostas grabbing her first charge....(have to install dedicated outlet in garage tomorrow) Now on the Prius C upgrade??? Perhaps I will wait until?
I recently picked up a 2021 XLE as well. My color choice was.....red. good color. Cost extra though. I'm loving mine. Also have a 2012 Prius. 120k on it. Been flawless.
Congrats on your new PP. Yeah, from Gen3 to PP is a big jump, and you will be surprised how much more efficient it is. You may miss the larger cargo space of Gen3, but you will learn to live with it. I am sure. Enjoy.
Congrats!! I think you'll love that car. It ain't perfect, but I find it incredibly comfortable compared to Gen 3 & 2. And way more efficient.
So far so good. Had full charge this morning. I drove it to work today, then after went to lowes to get my gfci outlet. efficient? I got 258+mpg for the day. had about 10mi to go after battery depletion Just finished charging on new outlet in garage and ready for the next adventure. Have to wait for this weather to break to get a nice wax on, wax off in.
You gonna convert your garage to 220? Fast charging is great to have. Here's what I just added: One option to consider.
Your setting looks good. My friend gonna come over this weekend to install a Nema 10-30 in my garrage this weekend for free. I got this portable BougeRV Level 2 charger from ebay for $96.
Technically, I have yet to run new wire and sub panel out there, was gonna at some point. (in my life ) So this gfci outlet is just for the time being. Gonna have to think about this, but if I do upgrade my C to a pp, then I will have to make some changes possibly. Just wondering if prius is gonna go more ev miles or what. for '23 or whathaveyou. I have 2 chargepoints in .3 mi and one in less than .5 mi from my home. and all free. So decisions haha.
Never heard of that cord manufacturer, but it should work and hard to argue with free install. The pigtail I got here and works well. The cord on the Toyota unit is sized to handle this. I have Ford cords at work and they are much lighter duty . Good luck this weekend.
Sounds like options are close, but hard to argue with solutions in property. You'll come around as soon as you get a taste. Keep enjoying your Blue Magnetism Prime.
Its incredible how much more efficient PP is over my gen 3. Im perfectly happy with the Gen 3....but.....I've gone 1/2 tank fuel and averaged 58mpg with PP all gas. Sorta just using gas and no electric just to get an idea. 58 mpg without trying. I'm not a heavy foot driver but I'm also not an old lady.
Looks like you've been "IN" for a while Congratulations and with keeping the missus happy. Lancaster, PA ... is Dutch Wonderland still there?
Toyoda got me! Yes Dutch Vonderland! Owned by Hershey Park now. edit: 2001-2010 Still popular but personally have not gone there for many many years.
