Strange noises when using the steering wheel after restart

**update** I brought my car again to another dealer and mechanic (who is familiar with Priuses) did confirm the noise and that this issue was was brought up to Toyota in the past. This specially happens to 4th Gens manufactured in 2016. No TSB yet according to him but more complaints with proper documentation should hopefully raise a red flag with them.

 

Happens on my wife's 2016 also. I never really paid much attention as it was only occurring on initial start up.

Update. I also heard today when i was turning into the petrol station to fill gas. Sounds like a clunk.

Have you reported it to a local dealer or better yet to Toyota CS? I made sure to have it on file, just in case something goes bad after my warranty expires.

 

I'll mention it on my next oil change. I have to run a few more tests myself to be sure of when the sound is heard , example just left or right turn, full lock or not, low speed etc..

OK, I apologize in advance... I've been restraining myself from posting this for the last couple weeks, but I just can't any longer. The thread is entitled, "Strange noises when using the steering wheel after restart."

My useful and sage observation? If you DON'T use the steering wheel after a restart, you'll likely hear even stranger noises -- like screeching tires, screaming bystanders and crunching metal! I know, especially down here in Florida, it doesn't seem like many are inclined to do so, but please, by all means, use the steering wheel!

 

Still getting a slight clunk noise that can be felt on the steering wheel at low speed after initial start. I'm not sure if it is happening whilst driving slowly , it might be still testing.

They said they couldn't replicate the issue. I'm sure they'll find it after the warranty runs out though.

My 2016 G4 doing even harder I can't upload videos here to see for some reason. I been with my one only at TOYOTA UK and they are clueless, for one year I have this noises and complaining all the time to them and unfortunately their customer service is rubbish. Please update if you sort out yours.

The same did with my car, not even now they don't know what is wrong with the car. I complained even to Toyota UK about the situation and because of the unskilled mechanics and they just don't care about anything. Anybody knows an official TOYOTA JAPAN email address where to complain about the lack of customer service and unskilled staff at Toyota dealership?
