Hello! have an 09 loaded gen2. Beautiful car in and out but the fob only works as a fob, the handles, buttons don’t work. And the start button doesn’t work unless the key is in the dash. Changed battery in the fob but didn’t help don’t know where to start
Just got it recently? Look on the back of the fob, does it have a black Toyota logo or a silver one? Check the 'Key' button below the steering wheel, is it out? Out = SKS is not disabled; In = SKS disabled.
Shoot that would be a blessing for sure if that’s all it is! Thank you so much I will try this tomorrow
Sometimes a weak 12V battery can lead to skittish key fob behavior. After checking all the key fob possibilities, start there with a load test.
So stoked right now I did not know that button underneath the dashboard existed… Thank you so much. Guess there are still things to learn… I’ve had a handful of these and never knew that
I was making a joke, I don’t think it was a good one LOL or else I wouldn’t be explaining it… I was speaking old English like Chapman. I was essentially saying? But why does Toyota have the button?“ Wherefore is why, Not where. I only know this because I was forced to read Shakespeare and high school back in the day. I have completely derailed this thread and I apologize
There's a tire pressure reset? Must check that out, my dash light has been on for over a year, and I maintain my tire pressure religiously....
And I was only playing on the 'doest' in the thread title. Maybe it wouldn't get me a fellowship in a cry of players....
The button is there to turn off the SKS system- the car will use slightly less electricity just sitting there, so the 12V battery will "last" longer before being too low to power up the car. Maybe there are some situations where you don't want SKS functionality? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
