I noticed a disconnected wire today. It looks purple. Anyone know what this wire is for and where it should be attached. It’s on the passenger side on the backside of the engine. I’ve attached photos.
Looks to me like something that once connected to that suspiciously-wireless light gray connector right next to it. I might have to search a bit to see what that is. From the position, I was tempted to think crank sensor, but if it were that, you would have asked "why won't my car start?". Edit: there it is, connector D26, engine oil pressure switch. Takes a single wire, and it's violet. Disconnected, you will never get a warning if the engine oil pressure goes dangerously low.
