My 2013 Prius V 2 has a USB port next to the 12V power. In the past, I inserted a USB drive in the outlet, changed the source on the radio to USB and played my music or a book. Now I insert the USB (and the indicator light on the USB drive lights up so I know there is power) but when I attempt to change the source to USB it is greyed out. My source choices have become AM, FM, BT. I can't find anything on this in the manual.
I would try a different jump drive with some music on it...... I've had a couple just quit working....
I have a 2015. The USB is 'fussy' about recognizing jump drives. Some that are fine in the PC won't work in the car. If it's the same drive, then you may have a different problem. Does it work in a PC?
Yes it works in the PC. That's how I loaded it and I just checked it. But it is an older drive so... Nope, that didn't work either.
I found the original USB and it works. I created a new folder for books on it, copied them to the folder on that USB. BINGO! Apparently it IS picky. All three are SanDisk although one is old (but it works in the PC). The one that works is probably the middle aged one.
