Replaced water pump inverter and still doesn't run

    Hey guys,just finished installing the water pump inverter ,pretty straight and forward job, i pinched the hoses so i wouldn't have to add coolant, but looks like there is very little coolant now, after i put everything back together ,i tried to make it run no go, i though the red triangle needs to be reset so i used my obd Reader to clear out any codes , only got one, it said connectivity lost, tried disconnecting the negative battery for a couple minute's it did not work either, sometimes it will engage in drive ready when my hood was up , when i closed the hood it wasn't in ready position anymore lol, could it be it was just real low on coolant?

    you should fill the coolant back up before starting the car. Without coolant, that pump will probably burn out if you run it dry

    How did you establish this? Is the coolant level lower than the MIN. stripe on the inverter coolant tank?

    Are you saying that zero coolant was lost when you removed the pump? Even with the hoses clamped off, there should have been a couple ounces or so of coolant that drained from the hose ends and pump. If not, that system was mighty dry.

    On another note, what code(s) did you originally have? Is your scanner Prius language friendly? What method did you use to replace the ICWS? Did you remove the headlight for access or lift the inverter?

    Update, filled coolant and bled it correctly, new pump is working as i can feel it vibrating but don't see coolant moving around when i open cap,i think my battery is shot as my gas gauge blinks and doesn't stop , read somewhere that when that happens network is lost and can't use a obd scanner, going to leave the 12v battery charging overnight, you can charge from the front under the hood right?

    You should always diagnose with a good 12v battery, that has a good charge. You should probably charge directly connecting charger to the battery. Why would you want to do it from the front?

    Yes it is perfectly fine to charge the battery from the front jump point. 3.5 Amp max.

    Charge from the front jump point. Been doing that for 14 years.

    It’s the inverter cooling water pump.
