Personally i have no complaints with the Ecopia 422 Plus and when these wear down i will get them again. Others have noted that the Prius is very picky when it comes to tires and fuel economy. Often dropping several or more MPGs. Better the devil you know than the one you dont.
Ive always been a fan of Michelin, wonder if anyone can give their opinion on the Michelin Energy A/S vs. Ecopias
Well I found out the hard way. Stay away from pirelli tires. Piterlli says they are LRR tires. They are not! Pirelli p4 four seasons plus.
They may not be LRR tires, but my order of Bridgestone Touranza Quietracks just came in to Costco. I am hoping to get them put on soon. I was aiming for Michelin, but the availability of the tire designs were lacking on two of Michelin's models, and Costco had a little money off for the Bridgestones. This is the first time in my life that I've bought Bridgestones... hope they are worth it.
I'm not sure. The first 22 miles, this morning, didn't seem quieter. A different tone perhaps, but I don't think they are any quieter than the OEM tires that came off of it. More testing is needed. The only benefit I see right now is having deeper sipes again, with nice open side-sipes, for the tropical storm rains we get here. I'm wondering if they added the 'Quiettrack' name to the tire to try to convince folks that they are quiet tires? Though part of this may delve into the front wheel area design. I recall folks talking about it being a large percentage of the road noise - it seems like the air or road-noise gets up in there and transmitted throughout the cabin.
