76,000 mile 2014 for $13,600 Or 84,000 mile 2008 for $8000 14k is my budget. I’m a first time Prius buyer. I’m looking to travel the states in the car. Any advice? I also found a 2016 for 14k at about 115k miles. Which would you find to be the best deal??
I find time to be vastly more vital in predicting reliability than mileage. Therefore, I wouldn't even consider the 2008. At only $400 more, I'd get the 2016 over the 2014 despite higher mileage.
I'd search for a 2008 with low mileage like that one, but at a much lower/more honest price... Usually you have to buy from a private seller because everything they've ever said about used car dealers is mostly true.
Hmm yeah it seems low a really reasonable price. I’m still contemplating on getting it - and it is from a dealer. I figured saving a bit of money would be worth it. Looking through the forums I get the impression that Gen 2 can last well over 200k, maybe 300k+. I was initially thinking Gen 3 but soooo many people on here talk about the potential issues with them I’m thinking twice. i might just get that Gen 4 for 14k. I’m not too sure yet.
i like the 2016, all things being equal. if it has a good history, and no issues, it is a much better car than previous generations. just be aware, there may or may not be a spare, and if you're going to sleep in it, the floor may not be flat
