Hey so I noticed on the Toyota parts website that there are different kinds of 0w-20 oil does anyone know what the differences are? For example they have a txm and a txm1 oil, I have attached a screenshot of some of the options.
An authoritative answer would have to come from someone who works at Toyota or a dealer, but I’d speculate that the various part numbers indicate package quantities (such quarts, gallons, or 55-gallon drums) and commercial arrangements, rather than different formulations of the oil itself. “TXM,” for example, is probably Toyota Express Maintenance, and “WTY” might be warranty, i.e., usage for ToyotaCare and other warranty claims. “EQUIP” may refer to equipment loan arrangements, in which an oil distributor lends a dealer money to buy bulk oil storage and dispensing equipment, repaid by a fee added to each gallon purchased. As funny as it sounds i just ordered all of the different options. Each of the following descriptions for 0w20 oil had 2 offerings like my original picture showed for txm and txm wty (ie 0w20 equip 4 & equip 4 W) the non W or wty versions were ~12-15$ and the w/wty versions were ~4$ so i assumed it was gallon vs quart pricing, I will post back when i find out more info.
