Hi All, I just got a 2018 Prius Four. I am doing the replace the tire repair kit with a real spare tire setup; I removed the old foam, and I found thick sticky tape all over the wheel well - I guess that is OK -- I just remove it around the screw down; BUT, when I put the donut wheel in the well and tried the screw it down, the screw was NOT LONG enough; the replacement foam fit fine over the tire. What do I need to do? What did I do wrong? (see photos).. The screw down I got is 51931-47010. Please Advise Thanks Cyndie
How long is your screw down? Mine (2016 Prius 3) has about 1.5 inches of threads below the plastic. JeffD
I can't recall ever seeing "dynomat" sound deadening material applied by the factory. You may need to remove that stuff from the bottom of the tire well to have the spare sit in there correctly. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
There are two different thumbscrews. The first one is for later models; the second one is for earlier models. Check under "what this fits" to see if it fits yours. Gen 4 Toyota Prius spare-tire stud.
