I have a 2007 toyota prius on about 173k miles. While driving around the dashboard suddenly lighted up with the red triangle, vsc, check engine, and a light that looks something like ((!)). My OBD Scanner shows 2 error codes, U0100, lost communication with ECM/PCM A; and U0111, lost communication with battery energy control module A. I can start the car, and drive around with the battery and engine for a few minutes, before the car will lose the battery and rely solely on gas. But everytime I restart the car I can use the battery for a few more minutes. Note that when I lose the battery the battery is still holding a charge but it's just that the car no longer depletes/charges the battery while driving Is this something I may be able to diagnose myself? Thank you for your help
Check or have someone else check the 12 V battery before you do anything else. IF.....it is the original OEM one (10 years old) then don't even bother checking it; just get a new one......and charge it up good before installing.
maybe need a new hybrid battery. 1) check your inverter reservoir for fluid movement with the car in ready. if there is no movement, replace the pump. 2) if there is movement, get a mini vci and read the codes properly.
I have the same problem I changed the 12v battery and the hybrid battery as well and the same 2 codes keep coming up "u0100, u0111' and giving me the the check engine light as well as the red triangle what do I do ?
Did you figure things out after replacing hybrid battery and 12v battery? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
