Hi - my new Prius has started doing something differently... after shutting it off and leaving it, whether I use the blackbutton on the door handle or the lock button on the fob, i get a very long beep. Why is that? Thanks.
It's telling you it's not locking. Check and make sure you don't have the other fob in the car (it's a safety measure so you don't lock yourself out). Also make sure all the doors are closed (including the trunk) all the way.

For example, if you leave your keys inside the car or forget to power off and try to lock it from the outside, it will beep. If your doors aren't all fully closed when you try to lock it, it will beep. When I first got my Prius, I'd sometimes find that I hadn't properly closed the hatchback and I was unable to lock it. It looks closed but you have to push down hard to properly engage it. When you get the long beep, are you able to actually lock the car?
