Replaced tie rods. Drove car to alignment shop. Traction control light is now stagnant. Alignment was performed. Traction control light is still stagnant. Fault code C 1290. How do I reset traction control light.
The code is about the steering angle zero point. First make sure the alignment is reasonable: is the steering wheel well centered when driving straight ahead, 22 mph or more? If that's ok, do a clear and relearn of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor. The steering angle zero point ought to be captured correctly after that. If it still can't be, there could be a contributing problem with the wheel speed sensors (the ECU won't believe you're driving straight, if it thinks the wheels are turning different speeds).
I just connected the obd reader and reset the code. Hope this works. Let me know what you guys or gals think
