    Agreed;).

What's more unnerving is my mother in law is a VERY aggressive driver:cool:.

Imagine weaving in and out of traffic in that going at speeds while cutting larger vehicles off:eek:.

    She's in a more sensible G37x these days(y).

    Hey Bisco

I still think about getting an original PIP every now and then....because all I really want is a "Prius with a bigger battery" for when we go road tripping in the mountains etc... How is your battery holding up? Is there an easy way to see how much the battery has degraded...etc?

The Miata may be the most fun car for the money ever made, in my opinion.

it's fine so far. i lost about 15% over the first couple years, so i'm down to around 14 from 16 miles around town.
i only have 74,000 miles, about 50,000 are pure ev. idk any way to check the health unless doc prius works on it, or maybe tech stream.
i'm still in love with it, it fits all my requirements except winter heat. i wish it had primes heat pump, but then i'd need a bigger battery. another rabbit hole...(n)

the good news is, we haven't seen any failures yet, and some are at a couple hundred thousand.

the bad news is the gen3 egr system

Yeah..the PIP seems to be at a good price point these days. Frankly, I'm kind of discouraged by how much new(er) plug in vehicles cost these days ( well for that matter vehicles in general ). I could certainly 'afford' one...but I'm cheap and don't need the latest shiny object. (y)

    That's about $23.5 k in todays dollars;).

    Great price :).

    Hard to argue with that(y).

have you priced out a prime? it's the only vehicle left in the market at steep discounts, and we're in the cheapest area of the country.
not sure how things are going to swing when the new incentives get passed by congress.

i would have bought one, but the hatch didn't work for me. i use every cubic inch. that's the nice thing about an old car, you don't mind filling them with garbage.
although, i do see people shoveling free dirt into the hatch of their new tesla's at the local recycling center

Yeah I have. However, the prime is still more than I wanted to spend ( yeah...like I said..I'm 'frugal'..haha ).

With your prior Prius ownership, you know how to stretch fuel economy;).

And with a bigger battery, you can go further on electrons:).

Here's a screen shot from our trip up the coast to Fort Bragg:

    BEFB049B-4BB6-45FA-98F9-7266A61C4C0F.jpeg

The battery started out at 20%, I filled it up regenning down some of the inclines along the coast and used it up getting back home (mixed with HV mode).

Felt good using up what I generated:).

    Even the wife was impressed:love:.

    Well only so much(y).

    What someone's willing to pay:LOL::ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO:.

Out here they are mileage dependent on asking prices ;).

People will get more if it never was registered for the HOV stickers:).

We can still play that game out here and more important given commutes are extending again with everything opening up(y).

Not sure about the PIP but Tesla gave $18.3k in 2019 for a trade-in 2017 Prius Prime with 16k miles.

There are ‘wraps’ of which some may have interesting patterns. Just more sheet-metal art.
