I'm curious what do you think about my idea for modification of engine ventilation system?
I plan to connect PCV directly to hose between engine and intake(Z shape rubber hose on the top of the engine).
It will eliminate vacuum in ventilation system and I hope oil consumption will bo gone.

Am I right or this is stupid PCV mod.png and will not work?

P.S Sorry for my bad english :)

I think you’ve effectively sealed the crankcase; rerouting the original exit flow to the entrance. In other words: not good.

No new ideas are stupid, you’re on to something. I’m all for improving our outdated vehicles just like everyone here, hope your mod works out.

The crankcase will be not sealed. Both in/out ways are open. Only The gas flow changes direction.

This is my idea. I will do it and see what will happen. :)

The out way feeds back into the in way? Effectively then there is no exit, my opinion.

I think the net effect will be a dirty throttle body.

Why do you think your oil consumption will be reduced?

I'm kind of wondering how well your mod will do at matching what the system is intended to do at different operating points.

Like I wrote, I want to eliminate vaccum in ventilation.
When you remove intake mainfold you'll see how much oil is there. I think this is because PCV valve sucking out oil from crankcase. Oil is only "after" inlet of PCV in IM, thats why I think my mod may reduce oil consumprion.

Today I will do my mod and will observe few days what will happen.

Maybe I'm wrong. But I want to see.

I'd rather have the crankcase be in a vacuum. Vacuum reduces aerodynamic drag on the crankshaft and rods which increases engine efficiency. If you're worried about drawing in oil, use a catch can.

it must have thrown an error, there is a sensor near to the pcv and if it doesen't sense what it expects, the engine light will pop up.
