Australian delivered 2010 Prius Gen 3, lost one of the key fobs, looking into getting a replacement. Dealer price is crazy and the locksmiths are loading the price up too. So looking to get a fob and just get a locksmith to program it.
    Fob is FCC ID: HYQ14ACX
    IC: 1551A-14ACX
    COFETEL RLVCE1400-0205 DENSO 14ACX

    My guess would be 314.3MHz

On the internet I read that it is usually 315MHz for North American (produced? delivered? idk) cars and 434 MHZ for European and Japanese cars.

@GabrielD I tried that a few years ago and could never get the TechStream software. I think without the software, it's a no-go. I ended up taking mine to a locksmith and they were able to program it. I don't recall the exact price but it was expensive. Not too much to pay for the peace of mind of having a spare fob.

I think this is a good example of "false economy".
How do you know that the locksmith won't "load up the price" for programming too ?
And if it doesn't work, will you expect a refund ......which might NOT be forthcoming ??
