Has anybody else experienced this? I took my Prius to a local mechanic, and he told me to take it to someone who specializes in hybrids because they don't have the proper equipment. The hybrid engine is definitely the cause of the shaking, though. 2012 Prius (base) with 170k miles. My engine oil is good, and I have no leaks or other visible problems.
Head Gasket especially if it goes away in a minute or so. Otherwise a misfire due to a plug, coil or injector. Worse case hg:
Common issue. EGR system and intake manifold overdue for cleaning. Toyota has their head firmly in the sand on this. Some would say elsewhere. More info: Bad Flywheel | PriusChat
EXACTLY! You can check this by taking out EGR connector for few seconds, the engine will stop shaking... But will light the DTC with some errors...
