2012 Prius V with 202,000 miles. Engine is making noise. The car runs and there are no engine codes. Any ideas of what it might be? I included a video of what the engine sounds like. Thanks!
If it was the head gasket you would be low on antifreeze. And the engine runs terrible at startup then clears out. Have you checked the oil? Sounds like something in the valve train.
is the engine running rough? I had a blown head gasket and it didn't sound anything like that but if your loosing water that almost always means the dreaded head gasket. But this sounds like more than the HG Maybe a bent connecting rod.... I think your going to need a new motor. So sorry to see and hear this.... These engines can be pretty crappy.....Other should be responding soon.
Hey, I believe that's the sound I had one very cold morning. There's a T-SB-0027-16 for a sticking EGR probably what is making that noise. Description is MIL "ON" DTC P0401 and/or Rattle After Cold Soak. It is due to carbon build up. At 200k mi this is no longer covered I'm afraid. Part #s: 04004-58137 EGR Valve Kit 25685-37010 Gasket #1, EGR Cooler 00451-00001 LBL Authorized Mod Label Need dealer/someone to flash the ECM (PCM). Just addressing the noise. moto g(7) power ?
Googled it and was on amazon. Do you have a Check Engine Light? Guess when you change the head gasket you can take the plugged EGR cooler off and clean it and the motorized egr valve.... I can guarantee the cooler is plugged......
Yes, I do have a check engine light on. P0607 control module performance P0171 Bank 1 System too lean P0037 heated Oxygen Sensor heater control 1 P261C coolant pump circuit low P0A80 and replace hybrid battery pack Those are the codes that came up. Is the EGR cooler accessible only when replacing the head gasket?
Yo can take it and the intake manifold off. They are all plugged..... Would be the easiest when head job done. But I did all of mine long before it blew the head gasket.
