    Dear Admins,

    I've been an owner of a 2010 and 2016 Prius. Today, I'm picking up a new 2021 RAV4 Prime.

Over the years, I've found this group to be a GREAT collection of intellectual curiosity, knowledge, and general information, without equal.

I've been searching for a parallel group in the RAV4 world, and just don't see it.

    I have 2 requests:

    1) If anyone knows of a place that is equal to this, (devoted to the RAV4 Prime) please let me know.
    2) Maybe create a RAV4 Prime group in here, with the subgroups as the various Prius Generations? I know I'd certainly be a frequent reader, and hopefully contributor... :)

Thanks in advance for your consideration!
    Eric

Do you know the stats, say RAV4 hybrid vs the plug-in version? I did a feeble search; didn’t find much. Just speculating it’d be a pretty quiet forum, at least for a while.

Sorry that I don’t have any immediate answers to your questions, but congratulations on getting a hold of a RAV4 Prime. I gather they’re hard to get a hold of. It sounds like a very practical and well-thought-out machine (and pretty peppy too!).

At this point, having a PHEV (a Prius Prime, not surprisingly), I’m pretty sure I’d prefer to go full-electric when we finally retire our 2009 regular Prius. In particular, I really like what I see in the Mach-E. Unfortunately (dang it! ), no signs of our 2009 Prius biting any dust anytime in the foreseeable future...

Looks like there is a Rav4 EV forum, as well as "other hybrid" forums on here that you could start to populate with info... Main challenge of course is it will take many years to get enough people in those forums for it to be an active forum.

RAV4 EV made a brief appearance about 11~12 years back, a Toyota body and someone else (Tesla?) provided the motor(s) and battery?

Yeah it was a Gen 3 body with Tesla motors and batteries. Well, the 2011 and 2012 RAV4 EVs anyway.

Are you saying that you haven't found a Rav4 Prime section there or that it doesn't match the quality of discussion here? There is a Prime section there under Rav4 Fifth Generation. I do find the depth of discussion to be better here than the hybrid section of Rav4 world overall but that may be because there are so many hybrid newbie Rav4 owners there, Prime or regular hybrid.

That is what I'm saying. I think that (as some have pointed out) I'm in a (currently) very small population.

As it relates to quality of discussion and information, I've always found this forum to be one of the best. There are some really, really smart Prius owners here, and I have learned LOTS from them. (I'm a mechanical engineer by training, and to some extent, this forum is like a college class!)

For the moment, the Other Hybrids/Toyota forum down by the bottom would do.
