Long-time Prius owner and 1st time Prime owner (4/27/21). 1. Do I ever need to plug the car in or can I just use it as a gas hybrid? 2. Nav Q. I touch the screen and a circle appears. How do I get it to disappear? Can't find anything about it in the Owners Manual. 3. Thinking of after-market wheels. I assume that I want lightweight wheels would be beneficial. Thanks in advance Larry
1: No. Drive as hybrid if you want. 2: Home button If you can’t plug-in but still want to experience electric only driving at the expense of some additional fuel try Charge Mode. You can use it to charge the traction battery to 80% using the gas engine. Charge mode is enabled by pressing and holding the EV/HV button a few seconds until ChgMode is displayed on the multi information display. Enjoy.
Before you spring for after-market wheels, you might want to pop off the plastic wheel covers and check out the stock alloy wheels that live beneath them... not too shabby:
Thanks, I'll give it a try. I was thinking of doing that. I have a white car so the picture illustrated what my car would look like. Thanks.
Maybe someday Toyota will realize NOBODY likes the plastic wheel covers, supply a more “presentable” rim? Not holding my breath though.
Do you have a link to the center caps? I am trading my 2017 Prius for a prime as soon as it gets the the dealer and I am taking the hubcaps off immediately.
“Genuine Toyota” on EBay isn’t always genuine; that was my experience. Not saying it’s always thus, but you are taking more of a gamble. What I received needed a little Dremelling, but worked out.
