Hey peeps. I just recently got this 2007 Prius. Kind of an ordeal but that's another story. Just took off the bumper cover to get to headlights and check on some stuff. Car was wrecked and is a rebuilt title so wanted to see the damage. Anyways... Found this plug and I have no clue what it's for. Not sure if it goes anywhere or what. Not sure since its been fixed. Any input?

    Thanks

Two positions, one red, one white-with-black, it's connector W6 (at least in the 2006 wiring diagram I'm looking at) for the buzzer that chirps with remote locking/unlocking the doors.

Hey thanks, that's actually one thing that has bugged me. No sound with the lock. Where did you get the manual that you're looking at if I may ask. I found something on this forum but it's for a 2004. Same gen I know but might as well try to get something closer if able.

In my schematics (Prius V) this is A33
Wire color confirmed, red (12V) and white with black strip (GND), buzzer is blue
Here you can find more details...

Here's our wiki page that gives you all the low-down on the repair manuals and wiring diagrams.

As you can see by the difference between my post and GabrielD's, the specific designation for a connector (like W6 or A33) can change between models and even between years of the same model. So even though I turned out to be able to ID your connector in a 2006 diagram, it's always best to look in the diagram that goes with your own model and year.

I'm actually pretty impressed that a 2014 Prius v in Romania still has anything like the same buzzer setup. :)

Well, I think a Prius is a Prius, no matter what country you drive it...

There were significant wiring changes even between 2011 and 2012 of the Gen 3 liftback in North America.

When comparing across seven years, different generations, different models (liftback vs. v), and a different market (EU vs. NA), bets are pretty much off.

Now, that you mention it, I checked my manual and I noticed it's a 2010 Prius manual...
I found a propper version, for Prius V, Prius Alpha, Prius Plus...
But the name of the connector is still A33...
